The Audi R8 already has extensive standard equipment - a highlight is the MMI navigation plus with MMI touch. The driver operates it by steering wheel, by turn / push control on the center console or by voice commands. With MMI navigation plus you also get the hardware module Audi connect, with Audi connect data transmission module. This allows the vehicle to be connected to the Internet via the LTE network. Another option is the optionally available Audi smartphone interface, which integrates iOS and Android mobile phones * into an environment specially developed for them - in the MMI. The Audi phone box connects compatible smartphones to the on-board antenna and inductively charges them to the Qi standard.
*compatible with Apple iOS 10.0 and Android 6 and above; prior registration at http://www.audi.co.uk/myaudi required; active Wi Fi connection between smartphone and Audi MMI required for online media streaming.
An alternative to the standard Audi sound system is one from Bang & Olufsen, in which a 550-watt amplifier drives 13 loudspeakers. The subwoofer is located at the bulkhead in the right front wheel well. The woofers are mounted in the doors with anodized aluminum trim brackets. When it is dark, they are illuminated by LED accent lighting. Two of the 13 loudspeakers are integrated into each of the head restraints of both the R8 sport seats and the R8 bucket seats.
